Veterans

The Veterans of Foreign Wars,

come into the VFW’s open doors.

All the veterans that come here,

have fought for our freedom over years.

They give their time both night and day,

so we can be free to live, work, love and play.

To protect the Red, White and Blue is their goal,

but keeping this country free has taken its toll.

Many a partner, child and parent has been lost.

to protect this country at all cost.

The Army and Marines protect on land,

while the Navy waits in the ocean to lend a hand.

The Air Force protects from the sky above,

to protect this country that we so love.

From World War I to Iraq,

many of our troops have not come back.

With their lives they had to pay,

so we can enjoy freedom each and every day.

The cost of freedom really isn’t free,

it’s taken many a friend from both you and me.

We will never be able to repay our troops for all they’ve done,

but we can support them each and every one.
