Message From the Pennsylvania VFW Commander

April 7, 2020

Today we are watching a world that we have never seen before but we are doing what we do best and that is making sure our Veterans are still being taken care of.  If you have some idle time call some other veterans you know and make sure they are ok and see if they need anything.

I have been receiving calls form our members and nonmember from all over the state telling me what good deeds they are doing in trying to help during these trying times. This pandemic has changed the world we use to know and is bringing us closer on social media and our phones.

I have gotten calls from many VFW posts telling me how they have been going to their post and cleaning the building inside and out. When they get back in business, they have voted to go nonsmoking. By doing this it will help bring in the new generation of veterans who want a place to go with their families. They do not want to take their children in places where all you see and smell is smoke. They want to take their families into a clean air establishment. Look at the cleaning you have done and make the right move go nonsmoking when we go back in business.  You will do yourself and the community a favor.

While everything is shut down if you need a service officer or other information call headquarters there is usually someone there that can help you out 717-234-7927.
