Pennsylvania Seeking members-at-large for Veterans Commission

The Adjutant General, acting on behalf of the Governor, is seeking veterans who are citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to serve a four-year term on the State Veterans’ Commission as a member-at-large.

The Pa. Dept. of Veterans Affairs is seeking to fill to two member-at-large positions, one of whom, by statute, must be a veteran of the Vietnam era.  They encourage veterans of the more recent conflict eras to apply to fill the other available position. Specific attributes they seek in candidates are executive-level skills in the subject areas of education, employment, and health care (which includes homelessness and state veterans’ homes). However, all applicants will be given due consideration.

Therefore, the Nomination Committee is looking for those citizens of character and competence needed to enhance the operations and functioning of this important commission which advises the Adjutant General, the Governor and others in advocating on behalf of all the commonwealth’s veterans.

The application period begins September 4, 2020. The deadline for submission of a complete application complying with the rules set forth in How to Apply (section below) is October 23, 2020 at 4 p.m. without exception.

Please note that all submissions are to be done using email. Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted.
